Increased purchasing power and a special increase for low-wage earners

A quick overview of the wage settlement. The result of the collective bargaining mediation between LO and NHO will give all workers increased purchasing power and a special increase for low-wage earners. This means no strike will be called Monday April 1st.

Tariff 2019

- We are quite pleased with the outcome and happy that we managed to reach an agreement, said LO President Hans-Christian Gabrielsen, as mediation between LO and NHO concluded at 13.30 h Monday April 1st..

- We have managed to boost the purchasing power of all workers and secured a special increase for low-wage earners. This settlement will contribute to greater social cohesion and has a clear gender parity profile, said the President of LO.

- Our members have shouldered their responsibility in adversity, now it is time they reap their fair share of the benefits, he said, adding that this is the best settlement in many years.

The result of the mediation between LO and NHO will give you:

A general increase of NOK 2.50 per hour, i.e. NOK 4875.- per year for all workers.

A low-wage supplement of NOK 2 per hour, i.e. NOK 3900.- per year for all workers covered by collective agreements with wages that are less than 90 percent of the average industrial wage. (The average annual industrial wage is NOK 478,023 and 90 percent of the average is NOK 430,221.)
