- Norway is my favorite outside country and causes less problems than member states. This was said some years ago by a Commission Official, off the record, of course.
The report by the EEA Review Committee, “Outside and inside”, was submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 17 January 2012. The report is a research-based review of the EEA agreement.
- The Philippines want to be the first country to ratify the new ILO convention on domestic workers, said the Philippine Labour Secretary, Ms. Rosalinda Baldoz on a conference on migration in Manila recently.
Monday 23rd of May 2011 could have been a historic day if this was the day Norway after 17 years of EEA membership used the agreements right to reserve is self from implementing a EU directive.
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is meeting for its 12th congress between 16 – 19 of May 2011. The venue is in Athens, Greece. The ongoing financial crises and the trade union response will dominate the political agenda.
